Hospital ORTON has vast experience in the surgical treatment of severe deformations, endoprosthetic surgery for haemophilia patients and people of short stature, as well as the surgical treatment of severe secondary osteoarthrosis. Our experience also covers the surgical treatment of children with scoliosis and hip dysplasias requiring pelvic osteotomy as well as endoprosthetic surgery for people with rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory joint diseases.

Some back and endoprosthetic operations are performed with computer assistance for greater precision and safety. ORTON was the first Finnish hospital to employ CAOS (computer assisted orthopaedic surgery).

Patients in the outpatient clinic and the bed ward are cared for by a skilled team specialising in orthopaedic nursing. The hospital pays special attention to stopping the spread of infections.

We take an holistic approach to patient treatment. After the treatment period in our bed ward, we provide further care in either the hospital's or the rehabilitation unit's ward to ensure proper recovery and rehabilitation.

Costs and payment options

Our orthopaedist will first assess the need for treatment and refer the patient for any additional examinations deemed necessary, such as laboratory and x-ray examinations. Our other specialists, such as neurologists and specialists in physical and rehabilitation medicine or internal medicine, will be consulted as necessary. After the examinations, we will provide the patient with a cost estimate, on the basis of which we will make a written agreement on the treatment and its price. Accepted payment methods are cash, Finnish bank cards and all major credit cards.

Insurance companies may compensate for the cost of outpatient or inpatient treatment, depending on the terms of insurance. Please find out about your insurance coverage beforehand, so that you can obtain a payment voucher if necessary.
